Expertise

A translator’s life is never boring, as so many different subjects come up every day. However, to deliver a good translation, a translator needs to have specific knowledge of the subject matter. Good – and sensible – translators only take on texts they are familiar with. I have many years of experience in legal and financial-economic translations, as well as marketing texts. Over the course of my career, I have attended many courses in the above-mentioned areas to update my knowledge.

You can reacht out to me specifically for French translations destined for Luxembourg government agencies. I am sworn in at the Cour Supérieure de Justice de Luxembourg, and translations produced and stamped by me are legally valid in Luxembourg. So if you are moving to Luxembourg from Belgium or the Netherlands, and you need to submit a sworn French translation of your diploma or an extract from the criminal record, for example, I will be happy to help you.
Of course I’d also be happy to help you with translations from French and English into Dutch. Please click here to contact me.

Translation software

I work with professional translation software that is very useful for integrating glossaries of clients and other databases into my texts. This software allows me to verify whether I have used the right terms in my translation and if I have been consistent. Over the past 20 years, I have created my own translation memories based on subject and language combinations. The memories are anonymised in accordance with the GDPR. These software programs are sometimes called CAT-tools. They do not produce machine translations; translation is and remains the work of a human being.
